Spudman 2008, I have 2 children that are not to smart, and 3 in-law children that are not to smart either. But Lynda and I sure are proud of them....

July 25th, me, Lynda, Sue, John,Kevin,Lisa,Kim & A J met at Kim's house to head to Burley, Idaho to participate in there annal Spudman Triathlon on Saturday the 26th.

We had to stay at Jerome, Idaho which is 40 miles further than Burley because that was the only place that we could get some rooms. John might be not so smart because doing the triathlon but he sure was smart when he has already reserved us some rooms in Burley for next year. Good on you John.........

The swim is probably the least favorite of each one, but they all improved there swim times from last year. This year A J didn't swallow the river. We taught him to keep his mouth shut..

The bike ride everyone does a good job and doesn't mind it to bad but for Kev & John it's there strong suit......

The run is the best for A J, Sue & Lisa. They feel most comfortable doing the run. For Sue she has been running so much she cut off more than 15 min. off her overall time from last years event. She's almost to Disney Land. Good going Sue...........

Those that didn't participate, Me (real smart) Lynda (very smart) & Kim ( pregnant & very very smart). The not so smart ones did fantastic and we are so very proud of them. We are also very glad that now one drowned, fell off there bike of broke a foot or ankle. A 60 year old man from Provo drowned about half way through the mile swim.

Below are some pictures of the event. Hope you all enjoy.

We met at Kim & A J's house. Here's John, with 4 bikes on, he is one proud BOY...........

We park on the golf course driving range. What a great place to sit down to get all of your stuff ready for the next morning. You all can see what I do best.........

Boy are we handsome or what?

Man, how do you get these things on? Says A J ............

Lisa and Sue, snug as a bug in a rug. Boy are these tight.

This is one of seven waves to start the swim.

Here comes Kevin, just hating this run.

A J sprinted past this dude for a strong finish.

John screaming and hollering at the finish as he usually does.

Sue and Lisa sprinting to the finish. Long legs usually win but this time they crossed together.

Smiles for all because there are done

The busiest day of the year....the.4th of July

This is the day that we start at about 7am and don't get home until midnight. This years agenda was get to Murray Park so the whole family can run in the Murray Fun Days 5 K and half mile run for the kids. 17 of 26 ran this year. The nine that didn't had some very good excuses, they were......5 months old, 3-2-and 2 years old, pregnant, and then the rest for a variety of reason, take your pick. Lazy-out of shape-sore feet and then my reason, I'm just smarter than the rest ! ! ! ! !
After prize drawings were won and medals awarded we watched the parade and then headed over to grandma Ericksons to have our annaul breakfast with Carolyn and Pats family.
After breakfast we headed over to Homecoming Ave. to slip-n-slide, small pool for the little ones, a trip up to the Village pool (boy did the 26 of us take over the pool) and then back to the house for grilled hamburgers with all the toppings, fruit, pop, creamies (didn't have time for homemade ice cream) and anything else you could find to eat.
Then at about 6 0'clock Lynda and I said, when you leave turn out the light and close the door. We left to pick up Kim and AJ to head up to the Oakley rodeo which we have gone to with AJ's family for the past 4 years. Those that got left, hung out until they headed back over to grandma Ericksons house to watch the Murray Park fireworks.
Home about midnight and then crash for what we hoped would be a good nights sleep.
the 4th of July has to be the busiest day for us of the entire year............

Grand kids and there medals with a couple of friends....

Kim (pregnant) and Lynda walking and running the 5K....

Breakfast at Grandma Ericksons with Pat and Carolyns family....

Slip-in-sliding at our house....No Cory is not in line....

Next time you see Lynda ask her about the big pool she bought....

If you can't run fast enogh to get a good slide then AJ will pick you up and throw you....

Two good lookin dudes at the Oakey Rodeo....

It might have been a long and tiring day but as always being with family makes it all worth while.
